X Spell

Spells and permanents whose mana cost includes {X}, letting you pour extra mana in to scale the result. Fireball deals X damage split among targets, Blue Sun's Zenith makes a player draw X, Torment of Hailfire repeats X times, and Walking Ballista enters with X +1/+1 counters. The defining trait is {X} in the actual mana cost, so the value you pay sets the magnitude. Narrower view of Mana Sink, the broader grouping of outlets that convert large mana pools into wins, damage, or cards; this set zeroes in on the {X}-cost casting itself rather than activated abilities that drain a full pool. Cards that reference X only in their effect text, not in the cost, do not belong here.
