Damage Win

Big-X life-drain and direct-damage spells built to end the game by reducing opponents to zero, scaling with mana or board state rather than dealing a fixed hit. Torment of Hailfire grinds each opponent down per point of X, Exsanguinate drains and gains life, Fireball divides damage among targets, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel drains for your black devotion. Distinct from Combat Win, which pushes lethal through a pumped attacking board rather than direct loss, and from Alternate Win, whose cards declare a win outright instead of reducing life to zero. Fixed small burn that cannot scale into a finisher is not covered here.
