ETB Hate

Cards that shut off the enter-the-battlefield triggered abilities of creatures, denying value engines built on ETB effects. Torpor Orb and Hushwing Gryff prevent creatures' ETB triggers from triggering at all, Hushbringer extends that to dying triggers, and Strict Proctor taxes each ETB trigger by demanding a mana payment or it does nothing. Distinct from Hate Bear, which is the broader set of small static creatures that lock opponents out of various actions; this set is specifically the lock on creatures entering. Also separate from Graveyard Prevention, which keeps creature cards from entering the battlefield from graveyards rather than silencing their entry triggers.
