Filter Land

Filter lands enter untapped and tap for a single colorless mana, but their real value is an activated ability that spends one mana to produce two mana in a fixed two-color pair. The Odyssey cycle uses generic mana activations like Skycloud Expanse and Shadowblood Ridge, while the Shadowmoor/Eventide hybrid cycle uses hybrid-mana activations like Mystic Gate. They smooth color requirements for tight double-pip costs without entering tapped or costing life. Distinct from land_types.bounce_land, which adds two mana on entry at the cost of returning a land to hand, and from land_types.pain_land, which produces colored mana directly while dealing one damage rather than converting mana through an activation.
