Commander Synergy

Gear built to pair with your commander, rewarding the one creature that always comes back to the command zone. Commander's Plate references the commander's color identity for protection, Blackblade Reforged cuts its equip cost onto a legendary creature and grows with lands you control, Sword of the Animist ramps when its equipped creature attacks, and Helm of the Host makes attacking token copies of your commander. Narrower view of Is Equipment, limited to pieces with an explicit command-zone clause or voltron gear built for the commander. Distinct from Power Booster, which piles raw stats onto any attacker without caring whether it leads your deck, from Equipment Payoff, the creatures that scale with whatever is bolted on, and from Legendary Payoff, which keys on the legendary supertype across the whole board (cost reducers, cast triggers, anthems, tutors). The equip-legendary Equipment (Blackblade Reforged, Excalibur, Sword of Eden) carry both by design.
