Keyword Abilities

Keyword abilities are short named shortcuts that stand in for longer rules text. Flying means a creature can only be blocked by creatures with flying or reach; Trample lets excess combat damage spill onto the defending player; Lifelink gains you life equal to damage dealt; Haste removes summoning sickness; Vigilance lets a creature attack without tapping; Deathtouch makes any nonzero damage lethal. Cards like Falkenrath Noble carry at least one such keyword, while a true vanilla creature with no abilities does not. These shorthands matter heavily for deck construction and combat math. Searching for a single keyword such as Flying or Lifelink will narrow this broad group down to just the cards that have that one ability.
