Basic Land

Cards with the Basic supertype that form the foundation of mana bases: Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest, plus Snow-Covered Plains and the other snow basics, and the colorless Wastes. These are the cards fetch lands search for, check lands look at, and battle lands count. Distinct from land_types.dual_land and land_types.shock_land, which carry basic land TYPES like Plains or Island as subtypes but lack the Basic supertype, so they are nonbasic lands despite tapping for the same colors.
