Ritual

Instants and sorceries that produce a burst of mana on resolution, letting a deck cast something far above its current land count for a single turn. Classic examples include Dark Ritual adding {B}{B}{B}, Seething Song adding {R}{R}{R}{R}{R}, Songs of the Damned scaling with creatures in the graveyard, and Jeska's Will pouring out red mana off opponent hand size. Distinct from ramp.mana_rock and ramp.mana_dork, which are repeatable tap-for-mana permanents, and from ramp.land_ramp, which puts lands onto the battlefield for permanent acceleration rather than a one-shot spell-based mana spike. Also distinct from ramp.treasure_generator, where the mana arrives via tokens that must be sacrificed later.
