Modal Spell

Spells whose printed text presents a bulleted menu of effects with a 'choose one', 'choose two', 'choose one or more', or 'choose one or both' instruction, letting the caster pick which modes resolve. Canonical examples include Cryptic Command and Prismari Command with their choose-two-of-four menus, Abzan Charm with choose-one-of-three, and Collective Brutality which stacks extra modes via its Escalate cost. Distinct from modal.split_card and modal.adventure, which achieve flexibility through multiple castable faces rather than a bulleted mode menu, and from modal.channel and modal.mdfc_spell_land, which offer alternate activations or face choices on lands and double-faced cards rather than authored mode lists on a single spell.
