Cheap creature bodies, typically two or three mana, that carry a punishing static restriction on opponents. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben taxes noncreature spells; Leonin Arbiter shuts off free library searches; Collector Ouphe turns off artifact activated abilities; Drannith Magistrate stops casting from exile, graveyard, or command zone; Hushbringer silences ETB and death triggers. The defining feature is that the lock is stapled to a beater that also pressures life totals. Narrower than control.casting_restriction, control.tax_effect, control.search_hate, and the other static-effect siblings, which cover the restriction itself regardless of card type; this view filters specifically to the creature-shaped, low-mana versions, so noncreature lockpieces like enchantment-based or artifact-based hate live with those siblings instead.
