Always-on lockpieces that prevent or tax enter-the-battlefield triggers from resolving, blanking ETB value creatures and ETB-based combos. Torpor Orb and Hushwing Gryff stop creature ETB triggers entirely; Hushbringer also turns off death triggers; Strict Proctor taxes each ETB trigger with a mana cost. Distinct from control.graveyard_prevention, which broadly shuts off graveyard use through replacement effects, and from control.tax_effect, which inflates spell costs rather than silencing triggers; the focus here is specifically the ETB trigger layer.
